Need for Speed Shift performance

Not to smooth on WIN 7 either.
965 3.4ghz, 4890, 8ggb ddr3.

Don't get me wrong, it runs on high with AA2 but as soon 4 or more cars in the pic, the fps go below the 25 mark. The graphics aint the best, so not sure why this game runs so crappy.

He is basically asking a playstation 2 to run playstation 3 games.

So explain to me why people upgraded to playstation 3? To play newer games with better graphics, how is that any different to upgrading a gpu?
I think he is emphasizing the time that you can use the PS2 before upgrading to the PS3. PS2 is running on 9 years right now.

NFSS is a DX11 optimised game - why are you surprised that it runs badly on a DX9 card? Welcome to the world of obsolescence :P

It are running crap also on XP. I run the game on Medium, low shadows, no aa and af at 1280x1024.

E8200
2gb Ram
Hd 3870

First game I cant play on high.

Yes, I ran Crysis on High without aa . Far Cry 2 on Very High with 4xaa (not ultra) and Crysis Warhead on Enthusiast. And I can't play a game under 30fps.

Edit: Although GTA 4 also struggled. But games like GRID worked fine at ultra.

9800 gt. Min = 35fps 8xAA, 8xAI, mix btw medium and high...

I am very disappointed in NFSS, i installed and also had to turn my graphics right down before i could even think of playing, my specs:

Intel Quad Core 2.2GHz
6GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTS260 1GB
Vista Ultimate

So ya, i dont see my specs being an issue here but it really is bad.

intel e5200
ecs g31 mobo
2 x 1gb ddr2 800 ram
xfx core gts250 1gb gpu
xp sp3
running detail on very high without glitches 1680x1050

Found the culprit for the bad performance. It's V-Sync, unfortunately I can only play for 5 secs with it off. Gonna wait for a patch or update my gfx drivers.

This might be a bit off topic...

but what r the spec for nfss?

Ive owned every need for speed there is so im pretty keen to give this a shot. I got my spec in sig, will that handle it ok? I hate it when driving games run jerky.

PS* When i read the topic title, i saw Need for speed ***** performance...

That's weird dude.

Did i mention im using win7?

I'm having a bit of a hassle with mine in Win7.
Keeps crashing for some reason.
Was running just fine at 1920x1080 iirc and then going onto Tier2 races, it just keeps on crashing.

Everything set to medium though.

Going to try again in XP over the weekend.

Specs:
Biostar P43|E7400 @ 2.8GHz|4GB Kingston DDR-2 800MHz|GeForce 8800 GTS 320mb|1x1TB Samsung SataII, 1x250GB Seagate SataII|
|Samsung 2494HS|500 watt PSU|Windows XP x32, Win7 RC7100 x64, Kubuntu 9.04|

One thing I forgot to mention.

Shift really seems like it's basically a revamped (not for the better on story line) of GRID.

Also the menus are a bit kuk IMO.

But that being said, this is the first game where I actually enjoy the cockpit view, awesome!
