Need Help: Beta Testers

Hi All,

Its my first post, so the first thing is to say "Hi" to everyone.

I wanted to know if there are any of you who are up to helping me beta test a new server that I am putting up for Online Battlefield 2 Tournaments. We are putting up R2000 in prizes just as a "thank you" to all the people who are helping us test.

I would also appreciate any feedback that you have!

We will probably be testing a couple of tournament variants during the course of January.

The server is hosted in Rosebank, plugged directly into the IS backbone.

Yip, first prize is R250 and the rest of the prizes are
2nd Place - R150
3rd Place and 4th Place - R100
5th Place to 32nd Place - R50

Instead of only a couple of people getting a prize, I wanted lots of people to get something! - I thought it would be nicer. It will also be great when people get a check from Big League Gaming...it will feel real at least. What do you think?
 
Yeah good idea there should be more than enough people. What is your plans with this beta testing?
 
Beta testing is to make sure that the server copes alright (it should, its a big boy dual Xeon) and we need to know 100% how much bandwidth is consumed by the game...'cause bandwith cost is frightening and I need to know who much to cost in the budgets.

w1z4rd will have plenty of stuff to blow up :-)

We will go live in February with the full blown package, which will be based on ticket sales for tournament entries. We will most likely be running at least 3 tournaments a week with one really big one in a month.

That's the idea. I really want to have a good solid professional approach to gaming and build up a solid gaming community. More specifically, I want people to have a real reason to get online...the more people online, the bigger the lobby to bring broadband costs down!
 
make sure autobalance is on, cause the SGS 1 Ranked server can be really lame and one sided with all the "assult" babies on one side.
 
I hear you! It definitely will be on. I also want to test the battlerecorder overheads. It would be nice for guys to download their demos.
 
IS hey.... hmmm... most of the bf2 players are on saix! will this be a latency issue?

Nice idea though!

How you gonna handle the games, is it gonna be a first man to the top thing?
clan things?
etc etc?
