Hello

As title states, I need help extending my wifi network at home. Anyone recommend a good range extender or access point? And is there any drop in performance with this equipment?

Thanks

Not quite what you are looking for but I had a old ADSL WIFI router, with a busted ADSL port. So I ran some cat5 cable from the current wifi router in the study into the roof and placed the old one in the roof above the lounge. Now I have awesome reception throughout the house and even outside under the lapa. My devices select which AP to use depending on signal strength Some tips if you decide to go this route:

1. Disable the DHCP on the second router
2. Give the second router a fixed IP and reserve this IP on the 'main' router.
3. Make the wireless SSID exactly the same on both
4. Make the wireless key and encryption scheme the same on both.
5. Change the wireless radio channel on the second router to be 2 channels apart from the first one.
