Need help finding a certain gadget.

I need help identifying a certain gadget, not sure it exists to be honest. I'm looking for something like a rca female to 3.5mm female

Basically something like this but it's holes from both ends.
 
Zakspeed or HDCabling will sort you out.

But likely much simpler to just replace the entire cable that you are trying to convert with one that does what it's supposed to.

It's not possible. It's for my nephew. He'll be playing his ps3 in his room on a pc monitor that doesn't have an audio-out. So his plan is to use the hdmi for video and the a/v cable for sound and he'll use the adapter to use headphones.

I’m not sure the PS3 allows you to use both analog and digital outputs at the same time, but it’s been a while.

Also that output won’t be amplified so likely won’t have enough volume for headphones.

Just get that cable and RCA barrels.

It does.

It’s Sony’s very own headset.

Even the new Gold versions still work on the PS3 I believe.
