I have spoken to the call centre regarding this issue, but just want clarification as I need a working number as soon as possible.
The problem is that I requested a port from Vodacom to MTN on Friday 25/11/2016.
It took over the weekend to finalize the port etc and I received SMS yesterday confirming I was ported etc.
Now the problem is the Vodacom sim is still active and all my calls and SMS go to that sim and not to the new MTN sim although the sim is also active.
MTN numbers go through on the MTN sim but Vodacom numbers go through to the Vodacom sim and get voicemail due to the sim not being in the phone.
This is a huge problem as this is a business number.
I need the Vodacom sim to be deactivated as soon as possible and was advised it will take 48-72 hours.
Is there any way it can be accomplished sooner.
Please advise and let me know if you need clarification.

Good luck. I just had a 3 week battle with a service provider just to release a soft lock on a prepaid number to port to another prepaid. Best you can do is keep pestering them. That, or resign yourself to carrying 2 phones in the interim.

Weird, seems to be some porting issues with vodacom, also requested a port to MTN via mtn direct, got an sms today saying it was rejected but after phoning 111 they said there was no port request.

After more than a 3 hour struggle and multiple calls between Vodacom and MTN I could finally get the problem resolved by a Vodacom consultant who said there was a routing problem on Vodacoms side and she will refer to the technicians to fix it. It will take around 48 hours to deactivate my Vodacom sim. Hopefully it will happen sooner.

So 48 hours later. Sim is still not deactivated. Called porting department again. Said it will take another 48-72 hours. So irritated. Can someone from Vodacom just please help me. It's unacceptable

Another 72 hours have passed and the sim is still active. So I have been struggling for over a week. Called again and the consultant says apparently the technicians have not even tended to my query yet. WTF
