So here's my Rig atm:

Radeon HD 6850
AMD athlong IIx3 455
MSI 880GMA-E45 motherboard
and 8 gigs of ram

here's my problem: Recently ive been getting really poor performance in games... even games that dont require alot like World of warcraft.

i think the issue is my CPU, which is what i want to replace but that seems impossible because AM3 cpu's seem impossible to find... ive checked most online stored.. most of them either just have a single core cpu thats even worse than mine or AM3+ cpu's which wont fit in my motherboard.

So any idea's what i should do... getting a new motherboard with an i5 would be amazing but i dont have money lying around to do that.. so any ideas?

im willing to spend 1500-2000 on a new CPU.. possibly a new motherboard if its not too pricey. I feel my GPU is ok for another year or 2 so i dont need to worry about that.

so any idea's?

Well you could get a new MB+CPU and then flog the old ones to recoup some cash back.

I have a perfectly working Phenomx4 955 if you want. Runs everything beautifully.

If you make a good offer I'll put the cash towards a new CPU for myself :)

Coz it's the CPU currently in my PC so I know it works and only deal in person cash.

Why not go with these two items...?

MSI FM2-A55M-E33

AMD RICHLAND A6-6400K

Sell your gpu and put funds towards gpu like this MSI R7-260X

The above should good for some nice 720p fun on medium to high settings plus Mantle is something to look out to in coming months, the only game supported right now is BF4 but there's a few to more games to come in coming months!

Altogether about R3500 minus whatever you can get for the old gpu

Another option would be getting an SSD and re installing windows. the PC will come alive again!

SSD won't help for CPU hungry stuff, it's only good for startup, opening apps or high disk I/O operations.
