dude its a gtx not gx 2 :)

the 9800gtx is about the same in terms of performance as a 3870x2

spending 6k on a 3870x2 that is about the same speed as a single 9800gtx @ 3k is crazy man

your choice though

i mean if you really want to throw away 3k then go for it man

I meant 9800GTX not GX2... I was like WTF!!! Whys the price so low!! LOL!!!

Gecube Haaaiiii!!!! Do you want Hynix or Samsung memory Modules?? I know I want Samsung

PS: GTX may be same performance as X2, but Gfx on ur screen will never look as nice as the X2.

Are you crazy!?

Brands are all the same +/- cooling | sticker.

Gecube, OC'd, also with custom cooling: R3897.26
http://www.prophecy.co.za/gecube-hd3870-xturbo-edition-p-27411.html

Not all brands are the "same". Nvidia and ATI sells their chips to manufacturers such as Asus and XFX, who then build the rest of the graphcis card around it. Cooling, other specifications, stock-overclocks and other functions are all done by the manufacturers. Depending on who made it and what they added to the chip, there may be a substantial difference in both price and performance between cards.

so your telling me a gecube 3870x2 will perform slower than an asus 3870x2?

will go google and this and see but as far as i know all the cards are same except the cooling

should be very little performance difference between and a gecube

i know with nvidia it does not matter what you buy because all cards are identical in regards to all cards since the 8 series

again maybe just different cooling

Never heard any problems from the "less common" Brands.

I have never heard of Samsung GDDR RAM being better than Hynix, it's all the same speed same spec and made the same way. :)

Theres no Performance difference just Quality difference.....
The Reason I say Hynix is *** and blah blah blah is cause I know 2 ppl that owned the Gecube and both cards just decided "Ok today im not working forever again"... :/
Built like ***, what you pay is what you get unfortunately
Asus and Sapphire are the best Board Brands for ATi I reckon. Both very good Quality and use Samsung memory Modules.

Nvidia cards all the same?? hmm maybe thatll explain why they run so hot, Bs'ed cooler ever.

Just my advice btw... :)

Um no, 'fraid not sparkles!

Yes and no.

99% of the time all the brands use the exact same stock board, maybe different memory, but that does not result in better performance.
Cooling is cooling guy, does not affect the performance!
Yes maybe OCing performance, but that's down to individual chips anyway.

Substantial difference in price yes, due to type of cooler and packaging, bundle etc.

No there is virtually no difference in performance between different brands which have the same clock.

Each individual chip, even from the same brand, OC's differently. Luck of the draw.

I concur! There are about 15+ Brand's If you bought all 15+ and put them all in the same PC and played the same game the average performance difference will probably be ~2% :D

Exactly.

"what you pay is what you get unfortunately"
Not a @#$$ is that always true, that's a retarded blanket statement for ignorant schmoes.

I freaking challenge anyone to prove, by quoting at least 2 reviews where the same card, different brands, exactly the same clocks - performs more than 1% better or worse.
I dare you.

LOL agreed..

Just some advice : The guys on these forums know what they're talking about.
Coming here with some lame OPINION of your own (like that GeCube sucks while ASUS rules) is just going to get you laughed at.

[I'm sorry but saying that the most expensive will always be the best - and by default you ARE implying that - is simply not true, it just isn't, ..but I'm sorry it seems so to you.]
