need help please capped i need to access msn messenger

hi all

i am currently capped and cannot access msn messenger .as i need msn messenger as most of my contacts are on msn .
is there software locally i can used to access msn messenger even if i am capped and if so where can it be ddl from and how to setup it up ?

If you work for a company with Inet, you can ask your friendly net admin to allow you to use your work proxy if there is one. You can also try an open proxy. The last option should only be done if you are sure the open proxy welcomes it. I haven't found one yet that actively welcomes people to use it seeing as most open proxies are open to abuse because of slack admins.

Yahoo messenger worked for me when I was capped, but seeing as you are on MSN it might be a problem.

The easiest alternative (without buying extra BW) I can suggest is for a friend of yours with ADSL to open up a proxy on his machine for you to use. Download a proggy called Privoxy to do this. You simply point MSN messenger to his IP address and his correctly configured proxy should help you out.

If he uses the free service at companies like www.no-ip.com to create a free domain that automatically keeps track of his changing IP, you won't need to phone him every day to find out what the IP is...

If your friend is a really tight buddy and you have saved his life from certain death, you can always share his account details... But this is only recommended (advice to friend) if you are blood brothers and really TRUST eachother with eachoether's wives/lives! :D
