 okay so heres the deal after a few suggestions from u guys here on myBB im still falling short in playing the game....IT wont F#$%^&^ Run!!!!!!..lyk i said on a previous thread got the basics covered. after many failed installation attempts i finally got it installed and updated. went to battle log did that update game browser to, i then tried to join a server and it gave me a windows does not have access or permission and cannot find device path crap:wtf:...plz help

oh and it does the same thing when launched in the origin browser

The only advice i can give you is reload your system and don't lock it down. Sounds to me like your windows install is not a happy camper. Have you loaded some security settings? You can sit and try this and that but it's just going to be quicker to reload fresh and install on a fresh system. You eliminate all possible issues in one go, seems like a mission but i find spending 5 days trying to fix something frustrating.

Sounds like you have security settings loaded. Is it windows 7?

I struggled the most with my install from the people here on MyBB.

I had to re-install windows from scratch to get it to work. Maybe that is your solution as well. Do a format of your HDD, re-install windows, load SP1 and SP2, Load drivers, re-install. Make a note of where your patch folder is. Copy the patch to a flash drive and when you do a clean install put the patch in the same directory.
It worked for me when I had to do the clean install, meaning I didn't have to download the 400 odd again. It would now be almost a Gig as yesterdays patch was also another 500 MB's almost.

Here's the thing the patch downloads through origin so I can't find it..unless u knw of a site where I can manually download and install the patch?

You could copy somebody else's content folder and overwrite the one on your PC with it.

From the Origin install that you did. In your file directory you will have a file that says: "Patches" or something like that.

Just copy the whole patch folder before you format your HDD. remember which directory you copies it from and then put it back in there.
I think it's in the Origin directory > Battlefield3 > Patches.

Not at my Home PC now or I would have been able to help you.

On the back of the Box for the game you will see which Windows Security patch you need (It's part of SP2 :p)
Well for Vista it was part of SP2.
