Okay so I bought myself the following:

- ASUS Radeon HD5850 DirectCU Top 1GB PCI-E Graphics Card
- Cogage TRUE Spirit-775, Copper Base + Aluminium Fin with 4 Heatpipes

When I plug in the 5850 and switch on my computer I get a "Beeping" sound. For now I reverted back to my old Graphics Card.

Is this a PSU problem? Refer to my signature for my current setup.

What PSU would you recommend? I'm also thinking of upgrading my Chassis as the 5850 is a long card and the fit is a bit tight for me.

Thanks!!

You really like Asus dont you :p Anyway, that PSU should be fine... It has enough overall power, and 36A (18x2) on two 12V lines which should be plenty. IIRC the 8800 draws more power than the 5850 as well. So it seems like the card is dead. But lets check the silly things - power connectors plugged in properly, and the card seated well in the PCIe slot?

Lol, well I guess rather a silly problem than having to replace something ;)

I'll take a stab and say you "forgot" to plug the 2x6 pin connectors into the card because those beeps are because there is no external power to the GPU;)

We've all done it before...

What do you do if your GPU requires 2 PCI power connectors but the PSU only has one?

You can get a molex to 6-pin converter. I'm using a couple of those atm.

LoL :) yip I forgot to connect the 2nd 6pin connector. Mainly due to the card being so long and I had to move one of my HDD's a slot down and had to cut in a space for the 2nd 6pin :)

I gave my 8800GT to my brother in law...soz SharkBait :)
