1. CPU (AMD or Intel)
2. Motherboard
3. 4GB DDR3
4. 400W-500W PSU
5. 1TB HDD

Hi Tim, Could you give a bit more information as to what you'd like to use it for? Since a multimedia pc will definitely use some different parts compared to a gaming pc etc.

its just an office setup, but need the best value components for that price. Thought it would be nice to get some of the communities input.

I would've suggested the following if most of the motherboards wasn't out of stock:

Now you'll probably have to go for like a Core i3 540 and a motherboard with integrated DVI+HDMI, which should actually cost slightly less.
