Hi guys,

Long story short, my friend's wife needs to log into his computer for invoices that needs to be paid. He was in a Bike accident on Friday and in critical condition in ICU. There is no way she can get it from him now and it's rather urgent :(

She asked me to help but I have no idea what to do in order to retrieve or reset it

Boot up in Safe Mode, go to User Accounts and just change it.

Edit: Make sure you're using an Administrator account.

I use this Boot CD all the time

http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

It does not want to work 100% on Windows 7, I had to reset a customer’s password and it could not find the registry, Tried it on my PC no go...
Does anybody know of an easy to use Linux boot cd for win 7?

I think you already got enough advise on this thread. Something posted here should work.

Good luck with the friend - hope he recovers soon.

Off-topic:
If somebody new asked this same question, imagine the responses. Most people who have been cynical (and rightly so!) about why he needed to get onto the PC. Seems like MyBB members feel that they can trust Pitbull enough not to question his motivations. Quite cool how the online community get to "know" each other in this other reality.
