Hello everyone,

my computer's PSU broke this morning, which is good news as I can now buy a new cassis for a reason (I want to buy a case and PSU in one package). I also want to buy secondary HDD. Now the thing is, I haven't realy bought online before so I'm not sure which shops I can trust and which are the cheapest. I only want to spend about R1000 on a case (and PSU) and HDD if it's at all possible. Can any of you recommend a place to buy a cheap, good looking case and HDD? The PSU size doesn't matter and the HDD should atleast be 160GB.

Thanks in advance

here are loads of online shops!
Do a search on pricecheck.co.za, or jump.co.za for the items you are looking for. The results will show you shops that stock those items, as well as ratings from those shops

you can actually swop out the PSU without changing the ATX chassis ( unlike AT days )
as regards the wattage, 300W is the smallest (recommended) you'll get now and your HDD, would it be IDE (PATA) or can your PC take SATA ?

PM me if you are in Durban

Thanks for the replies. Will check out those sites.
It's a sata HDD and I am aware that I can just swop the PSU, but I thought that I'd also replace my case. The one I have is rather plain. . . . 300W would be good.

Try www.zaps.co.za they have some cheap ass combos...comstar brand.
Not the highest quality but u get what u pay for.
If u willing to spend a bit more, u can get antec combos...which is of much better quality.
Go check it out

Cheap and reliable, check take2.co.za and prophecy.co.za.

Was looking for kit recently and Sybaritic seemed to have good pricing. Haven't bought anything from them so can't attest to their service. Have bought a fair amount of kit from Take2 in Cape Town when less familiar with the on-line market. Delivery was fine but have never had to test warranties so don't know their after-sales service. Could probably have saved a bit by shopping around more but wanted to deal with a single vendor in Cape Town. Haven't dealt with Prophecy but they seem to be referred often on this site.
