Need help with flash drive

I have an 8gb flash drive. It worked for a few months. Now when I put it in my pc it says 3.7gb and I cant copy anything to it. I cant even format it. Why?

Dont know why you cant format it, thats something else, but you do need to format it in NTFS format to use the 8GB. Maybe its faulty?
