Hisense 32" HD LED (LED32K300M) (OLED / ELED ) smart tv

HISENSE 32" HD LED (LEDN32D20) (Dled) LED tv

now the difference between DLED and ELED ?????? i presume ELED is actually called OLED ? sitting the pot miss here

both can be purchased or rented from house and home and teljoy.

so how are these tv's in terms of quality in parts? warranty is good 3 years as i go through tv's every 2 years.

no samsungs and no telefunkens or JVC or AIM or AIKA OR sinotec for me thanks. (the 32" range colours were off at the time of testing with manual and preset, samsung just looked dull. tested with pacific rim and transformers and nature documentary shot in 1080 but downscaled obviously.

then there's a sony 32", which i need to test first.

im over the whole full hd phase so im downgrading and getting something else while using the cash to do other things.

i cant seem to find a difference between the two hisense other than extra hdmi port and wifi

help will be appreciated !

I would recommend a Sony bravia.

Now there is a few things you need to look out for such as HD Ready Vs Full HD, HD ready is 720P and Full HD is 1080P.

Also I frown upon brands such as Hisense. I might be bias because I own a FHD Sony Bravia 40" that i got for R4500 brand new at makro.

i checked them out very thoroughly and i think the Hisense is just priced aggressively to gain a foothold in the market compared to the others.

yes ive had both full hd and hd ready for ages and know the differences , i got the home theatre thing going on.... thing is i am scaling a bit down and going to use money elsewhere. The hisense seems to be the sweet spot but i cant seem to find out what the other differences are other than one extra hdmi port and wifi . The sony is on my list but need to test it.

thats why im asking about these two models , one seems to be newer with one extra port and wifi etc . which i don't need anyway

32" is my limit. Not going waste more cash on bigger sizes since its not needed (would have to modify room divider and im not keen on that, also its just me and the wife. We stay to far away now for people to come visit us haha)

I like Sinotec, mainly because of the price and 5 year warranty.

yeah its a great thing to have when paying a lump sum of cash for a piece of hardware that will glue you to a screen most of the day ....

idk, i tried the sinotec but its a bit faded too, it just doesnt have that clarity the hisense produces.

ill try fiddle with more settings tomorrow and try the sinotec again comparing it with the hisense .

all these screens are next to each other so its easy to tell the difference

Just a note on DLED vs ELED
DLED is direct lit ie LED lamp is at rear of unit
ELED is edge lit ie LED lamps on side of unit - which enables the panel to be much thinner
In the past DLED was seen as better due to the light ballooning on ELED but with technology this has been negated.
Currently pricing on ELED is at a premium to DLED.

OLED is something completely different - ie organic LED which is a type of LED and does not refer necessarily to the location of the lighting source

Thanks man that clears up a lot. I got a bit lost in the wiki side of things :D information overload.

also with ELED then it would be easier to see if the leds are starting to fade or die out as the edge of screen will be a bit dull ? i have very good vision and can pickup the slightest dead or frozen pixel or color change

OLED have limited life expectancy, so while the colors pop, in 5 years it won't be that great.
I'd also steer clear of anything thats not HD. "HD Ready" is complete BS. Any TV from the dawn of time is "HD Ready".

I'd also avoid Sinotec, its cheap OEM crap. Hisense is better quality.

To be honest, if they're not HD, they're old panels being dumped on the market, as its nigh on impossible to get non-hd panels these days.*

*That doesn't apply to OLED panels, as those have lower yields, so still see lower resolution panels being made.

With both ELED and DLED the light is dispersed across the screen to achieve even lighting so you wont be able to notice failure sooner on either one.
All LED's have limited life not just OLED - although OLED is the newer technology and these are what they using in the curved screens.
Many manufacturers are still producing HD ready panels or lets rather call it as per native resolution which is 1366x768 (the 1366 can vary on panels) especially on the 32" which you are looking at. Is all about pricing so these are not necessarily old panels being dumped.

Curved is just a gimmick.
Yes, they are being dumped. Production of non HD low resolution panels in TV sizes is rapidly decreasing.
Currently 4K panel sizes are cheap, and plentiful. Gen 6 HD panels (referring to manufacturing process, not resolution) panel factories have good yields, and even the lower tier manufacturers don't bother with < HD these days.

I personally have and use a 40" UHD set, although only HDMI 1.4 :(

I bought my Sinotec 42 inch full HD LCD back in December 2008 and never had an issue with it and it's still going strong. It's not a Sony Bravia that's for sure, but it's just as clear and bright as my 32 inch LG I bought in 2010.

To digress, I saw a 84 inch in Dion Wired over the weekend for 180k, that's more than a small car :O

Appears you must correspond with the large Chinese TV manufacturers on a regular basis - which one is it Konka? Changhong? or Skyworth?
4K panels are still at a large premium to lower res panels in fact at least 3.5x the price. Until such time as economies of scale kick in on the 4k panels there will still be large production on lower res panels

Yeah, I never did get the picture quite right on my Sinotec screen, but it's good enough for me. It's a 24" TV that I use as a monitor on my PC. The only reason I bought it (Paid R1,699) over a similarly priced LG (R2050) was the fact that I wouldn't have to replace it for at least 5 years.

Thanks for the input guys .

Teljoy have hooked me up with a 32 inch hisense includes insurance / repairs etc . best thing is i can just swop it and get something else on their list of goodies if i am not happy with it but i have tested them at other stores and friends houses and its just right.

bit more crispier than my samsung 24 LED :erm: .

im over the whole full hd phase like i said , need something that's cheap and provides clear and sharp colors with reliability. Nothing wrong with supporting a china brand that is good quality and aggressively priced :D

ahem ... then theres that sony ..... mmmmm yummy :p

ja im also going to use it for my pc .
