Hi guys, ive recently bought a sony dav tz 210 ht system, but i see it doesnt have optic in and hdmi in, but only hdmi out, so how can i connect ps3 to it so that it can play out 5.1 channel, my tv only has 2 hdmi in port. i saw another one at similar price samsung ht-c455 (R2899) has optic in, should i go and change to that one? im still within 7 days exchange/refund warranty.

thx alot

Simple answer: you can't. Unless someone is capable of proving me wrong, your receiver will need either HDMI or optical input to be able to process 5.1 audio from the console. I've looked at that particular package in the past and steered clear of it for this exact reason.

Forgot to add: I'm sure you can find other packages that have optical input without having to fork out R2900 unless you really want that particular package for other reasons. I got a Samsung one last week for about that price but had two HDMI inputs which was why I paid the extra.

Where there's optical, there's often coax :) don't you also need converter from optical to co-ax? Don't think the PS3 has coax output.

You as Steven says you can't, these cheapy HT systems are rather useless as "5.1 sound" seeing as you can only use it playing DVDs
You should be able to find one with an optical in for between R2k & R2.5k

thx guys again, should ve done homework before i bought it. i will look for other model at that price with optic in and hdmi in as well.

I think the logitech Z-5500 wil be almost double his budget.
