I need to purchase hardware for my father, he run's his own business (after retirement) and nneds to get a pc to do every-day work on. This pc must by no means be a state of the art mega machine. it must be able to write docs, do some email and access the net

I need:

1x Computer Case
1x PSU
1x motherboard
1x cpu
1x DVD-ROM
1x Hard Drive
1x 19" lcd
2x keyboard
1x windows 7 license
...and some ram of course

I live in Kempton Park and I am definitely willing to collect.

Please note that all parts must be brand new and warranties must be provided.

please let me know if you can help :)

:wtf: would be nice if i can get a good deal without markup here :wtf: money is tight for the old peeps

What is the budget?

Will probably be easier to get a prebuilt machine from Dell, HP, etc. That will come with support and warranty on the complete package.

Also you won't be able to purchase Windows 7 anymore.

Something like this maybe: http://www.landmarkpc.co.za/store/dell-vostro-intel-g2020-29ghz-500gb-computer-p-10584.html

Comes with Dell on-site support. You'll just have to add a monitor.

That's a good deal and right on budget :) All I need is another keyboard and a good deal on a lcd.

I noticed: "* cannot be down-graded" does that mean no going to Win7? other factor.... i need this by friday :crying:

Comes with a decent keyboard and mouse. You'll only need a monitor and I would probably get an extra 2GB memory at least.

The downgrade (from Win8) is a bit of a bugger with these prebuilt PC's, not a simple thing anymore. If that is something you want to do then maybe it's better building your own, that is if you can find a copy of Windows 7 somewhere in the first place.

Esquire sell prebuilt/custom PC's. You could get a 4gb DDR3, 1Tb HDD, i5 system from them for that price and they do sell Windows 7. It's your choice eventually as to how much performance you really need and how much bang for your buck you are looking for. Most of the stuff inside OEM PC's are made by the same 3rd party manufacturers like Foxconn, MSI and the likes.

CORSAIR VS350

UNBRANDED DEDICATED POWER CABLE, 2M

Motherboard: R571.00 (3 year warranty)
MSI H61M-P31 (G3)

CPU: R702.00 (3 year warranty)
INTEL PENTIUM G2030

RAM: R565.00 (lifetime warranty)
CORSAIR CMV4GX3M1A1333C9

Hard Drive: R679.00 (2 year warranty)
SEAGATE BARRACUDA ST500DM002

Optical Drive: R175.00
LG GH24NS95

Depending on how much data space your dad requires you should consider getting a SSD for improved performance.
