Need help with Sierra Wireless Airlink FXT009

So I have a Sierra Wireless FXT009 modem, but my computer does not have a Serial Port.

The FXT009 does have a usb and I plugged that in, but I have no idea how to communicate with the device.


Any advice will greatly be appreciated.

Okey managed to convert the USB to a virtual COM Port and have communication with the device via PuTTY.


Now my question is.... What can I do with this boy?

Im relatively new to this particular technology.

Low speed wireless or mobile internet. Could be installed in a vehicle for monitoring, in a house for burglar alarm monitoring, etc.

Edit: Does it work with MDMA?

I downloaded MDMA from your site, but it only says " Detecting mobile data device... "

I have no idea how to access MDMA's console to manually set the Com port to 4.


I suspect that's why the program isn't picking up the device.
