I hope someone on this list will be able to assist as I am being charged 100 pm handset fee for a blackberry device that Vodacom took back and the 1000 I had to pay !
My story below
I upgraded the contract that my wife uses but is on my name. It was a blackberry talk 100 and when upgrade time came was upgraded to another blackberry talk 100. This time the contract fee was 450 instead of 350 ( I was later told( 8 Feb 2012) it is because of a 100 device fee monthly to subsidise the blackberry 9900.
From the start the 9900 was faulty with various issues including battery draining in hours, Phone going to SOS and having to do a battery pull to get signal back, phone going into a reboot loop, Camera switches on by itself.
The device was handed in to Vodacare in sandton city Job Nr 7175442 after 3 weeks of use. After complaints I was given a new 9900 as initially they wanted to give me a refurb unit.
On 2011/10/28 11:41 AM I received an email from [email protected] (Lindiwe ) stating that “Kindly note that your handset has been replaced with a unit that has never been used before but it is not in a sealed box “
On Tue 2012/01/10 12:01 PM I send another email as the replacement 9900 blackberry again gave problems including battery draining in hours, Phone going to SOS and having to do a battery pull to get signal back.
Again device handed in Job Nr 7401417 at Vodacare in sandton city, Rochelle from [email protected] advised that Jane will contact me.
Jane phoned and emailed me on Wed 2012/01/18 02:03 PM stating she is investigating.
On Thu 2012/01/19 09:13 AM Lindiwe from [email protected] again emailed me stating that “Please note that we have replaced this unit with a commercial pack. It was sent back to Vodacom repairs Sandton yesterday, the store will advise you as soon as it is ready to collect “
Thu 2012/01/26 again the same problems with the new ( now 3rd blackberry 9900) and Michael from [email protected] advised “ Please be advised that I have forwarded your query to a Senior Consultant who will investigate and attempt to resolve your query. Feedback will be provided to you shortly.”
Fri 2012/02/03 02:18 PM Jane advised “ Confirmation of the OBF being accepted, Kindly go to Voda-shop, Vodaworld in Midrand and there will facilitate further with regards to the exchange to your choice.
Phoned vodashop who did not know about this, phones Jane who advised go to Metro Vodaworld. Drove to vodaworld metro who advised they don’t know about it phoned Jane who again advised try vodashop vodaworld.
Friday afternoon the iPhone was finally picked up, although this too was not without problems, package migration has been requested from the blackberry talk 100 ( 350 pm and 100 handset fee per month ) to the iPhone talk 120
Wed 2012/02/08 02:21 PM Insaaf responded to my email querying the 1000 pay in stating that As per our telephonic conversation on at 13:48 today, I have forwarded your query to a Senior who will investigate and attempt to resolve (with feedback) within two working days.
Thu 2012/02/09 09:06 AM Got an email from Rochelle stating that We then liaised with Helena the Repair Manager who informed us of the following; “The only difference is that we should change the package to a normal IPhone package and not a BB (Blackberry) , so no more BB service. The phone amount is still needed , the R1000 was only for the difference in value between the 9900 and the IPhone. So he still need to pay for the original amount.
A migration took place on the number therefore everything remains the same on the contract, nothing changed on the contract except the package that you will be on. The Value Added Service (BIS) needs to be removed as you no longer have a Blackberry unit. Regrettably the R100 device fee you still need to pay , due to value of device. Our records show that the migration was processed to be effective 29/02/2012 on to the IPhone 120 per second for R450.00 at Vodaworld." The number was on a Blackberry Talk 100 for R349.00 now it will be IPhone 120 per second for R450.00 per month.
So how can Vodacom charge me a 100PM handset fee for a phone that they have in their possession, secondly how can they charge me a 1000 for the iPhone as it is supposed to be free on the iPhone 120 package??
As the blackberry was continuously faulty it should be as if the blackberry talk 100 for 350 pm + 100 handset pm gets cancelled and I now have a iPhone 120 package for 450 gets taken? Which means no 100PM handset fee for a phone vodacom have in their possession and 1000 for the iPhone as it is supposed to be free on the iPhone 120 package?
