I have a few things that ought to be simple, but are giving me a bit of a headache, so bear with me :)

Firstly, I have two desktop PCs on opposite ends of the house (too far for any kind of cabling) which I want networked. The main one has my ADSL line and the Mega100 Wifi router. I have a USB Wifi dongle and another spare Mega100 router which I could use for the other PC. For some reason I'm having problems creating a network between these two.

Secondly, I can't get my laptop to connect to my existing 'network'. It picks up the signal and asks for the password but it just doesn't get anywhere. I'm using WPA so I'm not entirely sure what password I should enter, where to set it or how to 'pair' them. When I turn all security off everything is dandy and works fine but unsecured networks just ain't kosher :p

Lastly, I'm having the same issue with my iPod Touch connecting as I'm having with my laptop, so it's probably for the same reason.

Could someone be so kind as to guide me through the process of getting all this set up? Dankie :)

Step 1 : Take a close look at your Mega100 FiFi router, look for model numbers and serial numbers and such.
Step 2 : Look on the internet for a manual on how to configure that router.
Step 3 : Read the manual, and then come back here and ask us questions about what the manual is saying.

Not sure it's that complicated. Just something basic I'm missing...

First start off without any security. Just get all the components to talk to each other. Then start to progressively add the security. I do not think you can use the Mega100 as a client.

First get the usb dongle to talk to the Mega at the adsl line.

About the ipod touch problem ,the only way i managed to create a connection to my laptop was through a ad-hoc network but you cannot share a wireless internet connection to your ipod the internet connection must be a cable connection then just turn on internet connection sharing... Hope that helps you

Thanks for the help everyone, I've got it all working now. The only issue now is that my wifi dongle doesn't seem to work (at all; showing as a 'dead' USB device) on the other PC, and it was fine this morning. Also, how can I 'pair' devices so I don't have to enter the password everytime I connect?

Cheers

You shouldn't have to 'pair' the devices. If it's set to automatically connect to the WiFi access point when in range, you shouldn't need a password

+1

But then don;t forget to add the security when its starts working, otherwise your whole neighborhood will be getting free internet.

It's back to not working again... *sigh*

I try connecting, enter the password and it just won't. And this is all the devices again. Bloody frustrating. WTF is wrong here? :(

Could be router malfunction. unplug and plug back in again. It's happened to me a few times.
