I bought a new pc, everything except an ssd and gpu, since I had those in my previous machine.

So, I put the gpu and sad in the new machine and installed windows 8, with the idea to upgrade to Windows 10. The Windows 8 disk is a bought copy of Windows.

After updating the windows 8, it kept saying that it's diagnosing, and after that that it can't repair. This meant that I had to clean install windows 8 again.

After that I downloaded a Windows developer preview, made a boot able disk and installed Windows 10. It doesn't boot at all, it simply goes to an error page. The error page is different every time, basically stating that I'm missing a sys file, or a driver and so on, something different every time.

This is the error code I keep getting: 0xC0000221

I also tried to install Windows 10 on an hdd, but that also failed. I really have no idea what to do anymore. If someone can help, I'd be so grateful!

If this is posted in the wrong section, I apologise, I'm typing on my phone on tapatalk.

Thanks

Hi there

Thank you for the reply. I tried that solution but it didn't work. I did manage to get it to boot into Windows 10 by taking out the boot USB, and plugging my keyboard and mouse into different USB ports. I'm not too sure why that worked, but it's something for now.

Oh, sorry, no, I took out the boot drive after the installation. I meant I plugged out my keyboard and mouse and plugged it into different USB ports, and then it started up. Apologies.

However, I have since come to find out that it wasn't starting up due to switching ports, it takes a few restarts just to get my pc to boot without bsod, irrespective of USB transfers.

So, after googling, I still can't find an answer. I have to restart 5 or so times before it boots into Windows. Any ideas?

No, it ended up not being the keyboard and mouse, sorry for not making that clear.

The pc boots after I reboot it several times. So, it would bsod about four times before booting into Windows, irrespective of mouse and keyboard being plugged in or not.

It also gives me a bsod after around 8 hours of use. Then I have to reboot a few times for it to boot into Windows.

Sorry to hear you have ll these issues.
Have you tested individual components.

I have had an issue before where the DVD was a pain to install with , original or not, i instead used a USB stick for the install.
I would get BSOD and Error code X0x0x0 whatever also.

Try to install windows on a minimum spec machine.
1 mem module; 1 hdd; 1 gfx card ....etc.... no sound card take out all the stuff u dont need yet.

This sounds suspiciously like a HDD controller boot driver issue to me, I've had it with a number of SSD installs.

Just my 2 cents

Thank you for the help. It seems it's one of my ram modules that's not functioning all that well. Odd, because memtest86 didn't find anything wrong with it.

Thanks again for everyone's input!
