do i need to change my adsl router 504t to wireless adsl router or can i still use it and just get an access piont and pc lan card .

if so what the best way and product to use ?

thanks

there is no such thing as "wireless adsl" ...

you want to setup wireless network at home, which is nothing to do with the fact that you have an adsl

well, as you said above, you either have to upgrade to an all in one adsl modem/router/wireless access point (WAP), or given that you already have an adsl modem/router you can simply add a WAP to your existing setup ...

the later option will cost you slightly less, and will be probably easier to setup as you won't need to reconfigure your existing router much. So if you buy a WAP, all you need to do is to hook it into the adsl modem/router, and setup few parameters, for security etc.

having separate adsl modem/WAP gives you some redundancy as well, if the ADSL modem fails, you will still have your home network up and running, if your WAP fails, you will still have the adsl up and running ....

You need a wireless access point and connect that to your 504T ... saw the Netgear W603 on sale at Computer Mania in Canalwalk.

Very easy to do ... configure it as a DHCP client to be part of your LAN and select the SSID you want to use and the WPA-PSK security passkey and configure the wife's laptop in XP to connect to it using her wireless card.

Works like a charm.
