Need new headsets

I'm thinking of buying these headsets below. I've read some reviews and most seem to be pretty good.

I will be using this for gaming mostly. No audiophile.

I'm not willing to spend more than R850 for a headset. Are these any good or can you suggest something else for about the same price?

I've got those, really happy with them, they are so comfortable, I take it you have a 5.1/7.1 sound card?

I play Battlefield 3 competitively and they really help alot with positional sound.

The big plus with the Sirus is that you can take off the ear cups and head band and wash them and that you can choose between cloth or leatherette* cups.

I have the CM Storm Sirus S, and love them. True 5.1, really helps me in hearing direction for online gaming, BattleField3 :)

A friend has the Corsair Vengeance and to me honest I have listened to them, and they sound a tad metallic. They also lack bass. Maybe its just how he set it up , I dunno but I do consider myself to be good at distinguishing bad and good audio quality from each other . My 2c

Are they really worth the extra R80? If you include shipping its about R910.

I don't have a sound card yet but may buy one in future. What is the sound like without a sound card?

Yeah I think it's because the Corsair Vengeance uses a USB connection which means it bypasses your sound card hence the lower audio quality.

Well to me it wasn't as good, I have an old Creative 5.1 sound card that cost me R500 about 5 years ago and it sounds much better than onboard sound.

The motherboard I tried it on a a Asus P7P55(I keep forgetting the model), it has 7.1 audio and it didn't sound nearly as good as my sound card.

I was also looking for a new headset, and came across these: http://www.dynax.co.za/roccat-kave-solid-5-1-gaming-headset-roc-14-500.html

You can get them for R865 from Dynax, by liking their FB page you get 10% off anything, yes, that's right. I got myself the Dell 23" Ultrasharp U2312HM monitor from them using the coupon for R2200 (including shipping), great bargain if you ask me!

Here's a review of the headset: http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/audio/roccat_kave_5_1_headset_review/4

I haven't bought anything yet and never used any of these mentioned, so advise would be helpful. Those Corsair Vegeance looks good though!

I had a set of the ROCCAT Kaves that I got from a sponsor which I later gave away because truthfully they don't come close to the Sirus in terms of audio quality and comfort. They are the most uncomfortable headdies I have ever used, the Sirus is like having the softest pillow on your head, you eventually forget that you even have it on.

The Corsair Vengeance and CM Storm Sirus are both good headsets, I can only vouch for the Sirus as I have one. If I had to choose between them before I got the Sirus it would still be the Sirus as I have a sound card and like the fact that I can wash the ear cups.

If you don't have a sound card and don't intend to ever get one then go for the Corsair Vengeance.

Well I just received my pair Storm Sirus and I'm struggling to install it.

Don't have a sound card so I'm using usb. The lights on the sides light up but the device is not being detected.

When trying to install the drivers it says I need to connect the device even though its connected.

Thoughts?

Edit: nvm I figured it out.
