God forbid the food fundis see this thread.

For various reasons, I just will not have time to cook today but I need (want is more accurate, I guess) some delicious ready made lasagna for dinner.

Anyone know of any good delis / restaurants in JHB's northern area that sells this ?

Thanks

The woolies one isn't too bad. Otherwise just order from an italian restaurant as a takeaway

Give Seemans on Hendrik Potgieter or in Strydom Park a call. They used to do them, maybe they still do. The one in the Worldwear centre on Beyers Naude doesn't have any; I was there yesterday.

Seriously. Woolies ready made lasagna is just about edible but it hardly falls under "delicious ready made lasagna " category. I can't imagine looking forward to Woolies lasagna all day. I'd have it if I was too lazy/busy to cook and was sick of KFC and McD's.

So ......................... you prefer MACDONALDS over this????

Ja. If you are any good in the kitchen or have fond memories of your mom's lasagna then woolies is guaranteed to disappoint. Admittedly the same could be said for McD's and almost any other burger. I think you'd be far better off by a factor of at least ten if you took RustyPrincess' second piece of advice and got takeaways from an Italian restaurant.

It's not that Woolies Lasagna is bad as such but it's certainly not good.

My sister makes the best lasagna(chef school graduate)....But she recently got a temp job, so sorry! You are out of luck:-P

This is really making me want to convince my wife to do her butternut lasagne recipe...

I tried the Col Cacchio menu - no lasagna as far as I can see; Pomodoro only has beef lasagna on the menu (chicken would be wonderful).

Wonder if anyone has ever bought this type of dish from Fournos ?
