I used an audit firm in Gauteng to register a new business last year around June. They then went and bought another pty ltd and changed the name. This was quite dodgy but hopefully it is ok as business is starting to pick up.
During a meeting with the auditors (August 2011) they said that I do not have to register for tax in 2012 and should instead do it in 2013. They will then include the 2012 portion in the 2013 tax year. I thought this will be fine as they should know their stuff.
About 3 months later they sent me an invoice for doing the 2012 tax return. When I asked them about what happened to their initial plan to do it all in 2013 they sent me a resignation letter as they can not deal with companies that are not registered with SARS. wtf.
Now the business needs a new auditor and the following needs to get done:
- update auditor details with CIPC (I have no access to the CIPC website so not sure how)
- Tax registration & advice
Does anyone know of a reliable firm that can help me with this?
