Need smartcard

I got a tv and a dsd 990 and a dish. all i need is the smartcard. i emailed dstv to ask them how do i go about getting the smartcard.

do i just go to a dstv agency and sign up and get one? how long will that take? and what else do i need?

Email is hopeless, call the call centre.
Otherwise yes go to an agency with ID, proof of address etc

Very easy. Go to Multichoice fill in an application form. Remember to take a letter from the previous owner and a copy of his id stating that he has sold/ given you the decoder. Without the letter transfer of ownership will not take place.

really? that is so much admin. but i can do that. so i need proof of residence, ID, letter to say that he sold it to me. anything else?
