This is my current setup
coolermaster extreme power 550w
Gigabyte ds2r
E6320(1.83ghz) with zalman 7700 cooler 430x7 @ 1.4v
2x2gb patriot ddr2 800 4-4-4-12 (but running at 860 5-5-5-13)
Western Digital 260gb HD
xfx geforce 8800gt
Vista Ulitmate x64

I am using speedfan for temp (not sure if its accurate) and getting a maximum of 55 degrees for cpu under load and about 52 degrees for the northbridge.

Should I add 1gb of kingston ddr2 800 4-4-4-12? Should I push my cpu more still (i want to, just not sure its safe). Does a system fan make a difference as I have none and I am not sure If I should go buy one. Is speedfan accurate? Any recommened overclocking utilities?I use dual prime95 for stability testing running a blend test.

How do I set the ram's voltage?its rated for 2.2v but I can only see overvolt in the bios.Sorry I'm a bit noob with this.

Thanx guys

You should Try PC wizzard, it gives really accurate temps i find:)
http://www.cpuid.com/download/pcw2008_v184.exe
and i see you at around 3.0Ghz which is a descent Oc...
You wont see much performance differance from say 3.0 to 3.2 so unless you want to try go as far as possible say +3.6Ghz and Up there really is no point

Oh and use the BIOS to OC because you cant change voltage's in windows...And use google to find what voltages, clocks, temps are safe for that CPU ..... And adding another system fan should improve airflow which is good

I do use my bios.Im going to push to 3.2 once I get 2 new system fans. For overclocking memory is the default 1.8 and all other other increments 1.8 +0.1 ect? Cant find out what the default is for the ds2r...

What could be wrong:I pushed my fsb up to 440 for 430 stable and the pc doesnt want to boot. Bios resets settings...Is this my cpu's max oc or it it a voltage problem?

You could try lowering your multipler of the Cpu and use a Higher FSb speed?

Well If you getting 3Ghz and a 430fsb I would not complain :) if it does not post at 440 then I am guessing that it's at max for stability.

Could try CoreTemp, It's great cause you can keep a temp log!

Yea im changed to coretemp...hmm was hoping to push till 3.2ghz.If i change multiplier to 6 then my ram is gonna get raped though surely? The timings are so tight currently :)

For temp, use core temp ... I find it much better.

**Oh, I see this is already posted above ... too lazy to read :p **

Ok great I finally broke 430 fsb...Just pushed up the core voltage.Might be a bit too hot now but ill see how it goes...hoping to get it stable at under 60 or else i will go down to 440.

under 60 idle or load?

60 idle is to hot man, load will be 70-75 not good

what kind of cooling do you have?

I suggest you get a system fan. 2. One sucking in from front and one exhaust. Will make a huge differemce :)
