Hi guys, i recently purchased an alienware m15x and want to catch up on some strategy games, i have been out of the pc gaming arena for a good 5-10 years. I have been playing console games mainly. What i wanted to know is World in Conflict any good if i am not interested in the multiplayer aspect, just the single player.?

I just ordered civ 5 and starcraft 2, any other good options. Thanks

BTW here are my specs :

15.4" 1920x1080 Full HD Screen
Intel i7 1.73Ghz
8GB DDR3 ram
1GB Ati Radeon HD 5850

Civ V was a bit of an abortion. See this article to see what went wrong: http://www.garath.net/Sullla/Civ5/whatwentwrong.html

I'd recommend Civ IV any day though. If you are mainly interested in single player then rather take Civ 4 and its expansions as it is a much better game. I think you can buy the whole lot as a best buy from CNA for R80 these days (at least that is what I paid).

Starcraft 2 is a great choice as well.

Dawn of war 2 is awesome its not so heavy Strategy but hell of fun. (just preorder the complete pack with all expansions)
Defence grid freaking hard with the extra dlc.
Company of heroes

That's all I can think of atm.

What do you guys think of world in conflict, it looks awesome but some people say it has too much focus in mp, and i want single player games

There is Empire Earth but it's fan base isn't that big.

Starcraft2 is allot of fun,you should see the forums.

Also, i know i may be going a bit off topic in my own topic but how do purchase games from steam, can you purchase straight using paypal and/or credit card, or do u need some sort of workaround like the US itunes. Cause all the games in steam are in dollors

Paypal works and also a credit card.

Nothing special just pop in your credit card.
