All Over...
Right...I was thinking about something today...Apparently, comming end-of-the-month, International speeds can become very slow due to "apparently" high volumes of traffic....although, Localy, speeds are still fast. Now, one thing that rattled my mind is....How is it possable??..I mean, if you connect Internationally, OBVIOUSLY you come from a LOCAL connection, which THEN means LOCALLY must be slow as well because ALL International connections has, one way or another originated Locally....not so??

not if there is more local bandwidth available than international bandwidth...

Yeah, imagine a couple hundred fibres opposed to ONE sat3 cable....
Like the roads of the whole of JHB opposed to one national road (N1)
If everyone is travelling down N1, it doesnt mean all the roads of JHB will be jammed ;)

Clarified yet?:p

o ok.....thx ;-)
So what you guys are actually saying is, we need bigger bandwith for International...

<Telkom>No, we don't need more bandwidth, we need to make the current available bandwidth so expensive that only about 1% of people can afford to use it. </Telkom>
