Need some help: How do i access my routers settings?

I wanted to make my torrent downloads faster, so looked it up on google and found a step guide, so i need to access the ports of my router meaning i need to get to the stttings. I looked up how to get the router ip and i got it but when i put in my address bar it just says 'could not connect'.

So im either looking for help with gettting router settings or how to make my torrent downloads faster.

I think different routers have different ip addresses, make sure you know the one for your specific router.

I dont think there is much you can change on the router to speed up your torrents, most of it will be done on the client.

You should check the original packaging, mine is Siemens and the IP is: 10.0.0.2

1. Start->Run and type in 'cmd'
2. In newly opened window type 'ipconfig' and note 'Default Gateway' IP address
3. Enter 'Default Gateway' IP address in browser
4. Enter username and password ie 'admin' 'admin' etc
