I always hear the hype about WOW. Right over the whole internet you can find millions of WOW players. I have never played WOW and would really like to join the game. Now, I have registered a trial account, but the problem is the download! It really is quite massive! :(

My question is, can anyone copy their WOW directory and mail it to me? I am willing to pay for it if I must. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I would be able to play the game if someone sends me their WOW directory right?

Highly unlikely. But it will definitely work if you can get your hands on the installation CDs / DVDs. And by mail, do you mean email?

how on earth do you email gigs upon gigs - of course not e-mail :D

I have heard of people doing this....but you will have to get a WoW player to confirm - if you can, somebody will be here pretty soon to help :)
 
I will buy the vanilla version if I must. By mail I meant that someone posts it to me. LOL @ e-mail! If someone COULD do it, it still wouldn't help as I would need to download the e-mail still.... :-D

In hindsight that was a silly question, but the fact that you want to copy the wow directory threw me off. lol

Just get someone to make you a copy of the CD / DVD and mail that to you. Works perfectly. I've done it before. Thats how I got my WoW installation discs.

Where u live bud? If its near me ill gladly burn u mine onto disc and u can just copy it over and play. Will need the once-off licence keys tho to take u from trial into normal account!
 
Live in Bloemfontein in the Free State. Hope someone would be able to help me!
 
Yo check here. I can burn the game to dvd's for you. Probably take about 3 to 4 dvd's if I compress the folder. All I ask is that you pay for courier costs.

it will cut down on dvd's and cost if you clean up the files by deletin your addons ane the patch files

If you asked on Friday last week I could have helped

Was in Bloem on Friday evening, Saturday morning. :(

The total client is about 15GB's so that would entail a couple of DVD's :p
 
Best you get it before the next patch is released, because that 15GB is gonna be 16.5GB:P
 
No need for the installation CD's. You will just need the WoW directory.

Perhaps wait until after the next patch and then get a copy ... otherwise you'll be patching another 1.5GB

Probably have a look at CNA or Incredible Connection a look as well. Sometimes they sell the trial versions. About R5 for the installation disks. Still have to get the patches though :P
 
I am in quite the same boat as you. Mind if i but in on your thread? My Pc is currently on patch 2.4.3. I have the patches till 3.1.1, but everytime i try to update it, it fails (copied these patches from various PC's and I may have missed something). Plus I don't have the WotLK expansion. What I am asking is, would anyone give me the expansion and the patches from 2.4.3? VIA Courier would be best (I would gladly coverthe costs)

Just copy some 1's install or if you want the install dvd's tell people where your from some1 might stay close to you that can help you out. Just now you post it to some one that stays up the road from you

You also in Bloem mate? I'll say again - ill gladly copy my directory for anyone that needs it... im in the Sandton/Randburg area.
