I've just purchased an ADSL modem, and now I want to have a connection installed, preferably by someone other than a Telskum drone.

Does anyone have any tips? Contacts?

I dont hav any contacts for u, but it'll save u alot of hassle to go for self-install. This way u dont hav to wait at home for the techie thats not going to show up

Gladly. How do I do it?

When u place for adsl order, tell them u want the self install option and hope its available in ur area (to date, nobody can really say WHY its not "available" everywhere).

U go to ur local telkom office n pickup ur self install package. U also need to know how to setup ur own modem so u can follow the instructions in the package

U also need to purchase and fit ur own microfilters

Thanks, will do.

The motherf*ck*r that did my installation made me buy my own microfilters and install them myself!, what a f($*&)@(#$&_@#($&@!_#$(78. now that pisses me off.

Thats good otherwise, i would've had to hurt him anyway. :) :) :) :) : , tomorrow its back to hostel for me, oh well,

Okay, dumb question.

I have the microfilter, does it go between the jack and the phone or the jack and the modem?
