Any people know how to go about doing this? My bank has been very little help.

Municipality town planning. Give them street number / erf number, they do a search?

Sorry - no idea. I just imagined that your municipality might have a copy of the title deed. Your bank should come to the party though surely? @#$%^&* banks.

I'm trying to get a power of attorney for the sale of property, but the australian lawyer I'm working with says he needs a title reference - looking at online templates it looks like it needs a deed of transfer which looks something like T12345/2010. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It would be the document number. You can get it from www.windeed.co.za by putting in the erf number and then doing a search.

You will need a Windeed account and the search is not free. I can do the search for you.
