I urgently need to format my PC, but i forgot my telkom wireless modem's password. I tried to call their help line but their not answering because its weekend. I need to do it within this weekend... and i need to connect to the internet afterwards. Any way that I can get my password during this weekend? I have my cybersmart password, but not my modem's password.

Please help!

if you reset the router, it should revert back to the default username and password, shouldn't it?

Um

Not to be funny here. But Telkom wont know that password I guess.

But why dont you just Hard-reset the router? Then the password will be the default one again...and you have your cybersmart password, so no problems.

If you know how to set it up again, do a hard reset which will bring you back to the default password, check the manual and remember to change it from default once your setup.

But wait, why would you have to setup your router again if you are formatting the pc?

Good point you have there. I don’t see how "I urgently need to format my PC" would first need access to the router thus needing the "telkom wireless modem's password".

Just so you know you won't loose the password if you unplug the power cable. How ever if you were reffering to connecting to the internet password... that should be able to get from tellkoms ADSL line: 0860 dsl dsl

She has her ISP password. Telkom dont know that password by the way - No use calling them as Telkom is not her ISP:

Deidre, you could also try admin as your username and admin as your password for the router. Otherwise just let us know what model router it is or just Hard-Reset the thing.

Is she not maybe referring to her WEP key? So that she is able to connect to the wireless AP itself?

Hi, thanks to everyone who replied... but after I posted it, I read in the manual that I can reset the modem with the reset button. I used dialup for 7 years, and I have only had adsl for 4 months, so I don't know everything yet.

I needed the password because we have 2 computers on a network, and we had to move the connection to the other PC after I formated my PC. Complicated anyway....

Now I learned something new, thanks for everyone who replied!
