Hi Guys

I have 2 1024k lines installed. ( 1 at home and 1 at the office )

I am looking for the best uncapped package for these 2 lines.
I noticed that allot of the ISP have a threshhold on there uncapped accounts.

Please advise on a isp, that is truly uncapped and allows for more than 1 connection.

Thanks

there is the router uncapped (threshold less, excluded form this list) options:

IS, business uncapped
Webafrica
Openweb

ISP's Own Brew

XDSL
imagine IPS

see my old post on the matter
here goes, currently we have two types of uncapped options from which all the over variants springs forth:
theres IS uncapped, then theres the own isp's solution.

IS uncapped
  1. limited thresholded "uncapped" - uncapped express
  2. business uncapped

they are subjected to IS's shaping rules which includes torrents, p2p with sometimes rapidshare, streaming videos and ftp's - this usually applies to business hours, sometimes applied over weekends and after hours too. being shaped these two will render higher latencies than fiber or unshaped. the business usually includes a setup fee around R1700 from most isps

uncapped express(dynamic ip + throttling)
in short the express is subjected to a softcap(called thresholding) which kicks in after you have used your "uncapped" and went your their set limits on the account and you should get half the account speed but there is the cases of quartered speeds where my dslam had to be reseted in order to *fix* the speed again.

business uncapped(fixed ip)
not subjected to the softcapped/thresholding as the express account. however you must take a router with it and is not accessible to you as the user which renders no support to raspppoe like implementations as unshaped wow-ing.
...

own Isp's solutions
  1. XDSL - fiber uncapped
  2. imagineips - shaped uncapped

XDSL - fiber and shaped uncapped(low latency + fixed ip)
based on their own network/backbone its not subjected to any limits at all to usage and applications like p2p and torrents, but it comes with an international and local spit which starts as 75% of your speed to local and then remaining 25% to international. this can be changes as you can specify a 50-50 or 25-75 etc etc split. You can use your own router if it supports the whole setup, but a fee is required for the setup. Else must take a router from xdsl.

imagineips - shaped uncapped(fixed ip)
based on their own network/backbone its not subjected to any limits at all to usage, but only local newsgroups allowed furthermore no p2p applications. This you must take their router with it.
...

not all uncapped is the same !
