My company is downsizing and part of the process is giving us our company phones and giving us the option to transfer the contract to our name. Can I opt to have the contract changed to a prepaid , and will my existing airtime balance be transferred too? It's a top up package at the moment. I already have 4 contracts , a 5th one is out of the question

You will loose any airtime or data. That at least is my experience when switching between voice and data packages on MTN.

I assume it will be the same when going to pre-paid. Just contact MTN to make sure.

Switch to telkom

Why not switch the company to Telkom. We got 2 years unlimited telkom to telkom calls with them and 1gb of data for really not much.

Saved us bundles

Even if you go telkom sim sonke prepaid and get the freeme bundle you score free minutes 300 based on what freeme package you buy.

And best yet.....if there is no telkom signal, you roam using your bundles.......on MTN

If you are considering taking over the contract that means it you are interested in the phones that comes along with it or the airtime that has accumulated with it. In that case you have to take over the contract, I dont see any other option.
