Nelson Mandela graded proof coins???

Yep the dent is less from the tenths cos the value of the coin is less, but it's still 2%. But its still better than selling youself. IMO I'm happy to pay R17 a month a 0,86% p.a holding fee. rather than risk keeping the coins myself and trying to sell them myself.

I bought a coin in june. market value +-R13700. Now market price is +-16000. If I sell now, FNB take R329 but I still make a profit of about 2k.

Dunno about tax though

I agree. 0.86% is nothing really. I would think you'd also need to have them insured in when you keep them.
So that's about 15% return in what, 4 months? Really not a bad return.

I should look into the tax side. But I think that the sale value on a single 10th is probably likely to be too low. But not sure.

Personally I think it's a great side investment as long as you know what it is and isn't.

Yea, coins for me is a hobby. I enjoy collecting the coins! Some will increase with value, others not! That being said I actually don't have any Kruger rands but I'm definitely looking at it for next year!

I guess that's the chance you take. Yea, I'm watching the price and right now it's not great for buying. I think May was the last time it was low this year. Wish I'd bought 5 years ago.
