Nemtek Electric fence

So my electric fence is not working.

The Energizer just says fence mode off.





I can't hear any ticking noise and placing the key/magnet on the Energizer does nothing.

Anyone had this issue?

Tackle it like a Microsoft problem. Reboot. Unplug mains and battery and then replace.

Those energizers are pretty ID10T proof.

Read the manual and you should be OK.

If I'm reading the manual correctly you seem to have a power problem.

I did read the manual , doesn't say anything on how to solve the problem or troubleshoot

Do you have a keypad connected to it?
Try turn it on from there

If you don't have a keypad get a magnet and hold it over the TAG picture for a few seconds.

It should start if they did not disable the tag

You shouldn't hear any ticking noises on a properly maintained and installed fence. Ticking noises is an indication of arcing, current is finding a shortcut back to the energiser. check the fence in the darkness so that you can see the arcing, locate the "ticking" and have the bobbins replaced / fence repaired where it happens.

Hmmm, all out energizers tick - not at the fence, the energizer itself. Like a relay that it switching on and off to switch HV power to the fence.

Our energizer also ticks all the time. Does an energizer not implement PWM?

This did the trick, used a magnet.. I don't think the keytag magnet thing works ..

If all fails, take a picture of how it is connected and take it to Nemtek in Edenvale. Both times my energizer was repaired under warranty.

OK, as long as you are not confusing the relay noise of the energiser with arcing from the fence itself.
