Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing issues with their NeoBroadband Fiber / Neotel Data Center connections?
The Neotel support team are already aware of our problem, but they don't know of any other clients with the same issues AFAIK.

Currently we're experiencing intermittent packet loss issues, both on our NeoBroadband Fiber (5Mbps) and Cape Town Data Center connections.
Due to the intermittent nature of the problem, it is difficult for us to pinpoint whether the problem is local or international related.

Most of the problems that we've experienced so far are international related ones, mainly due to most of our services making use of overseas services, like the iPhone/Android/BlackBerry Push services.

There are most definitely issues locally as well, because like my PPTP VPN to my office (from Mweb 1Mbps ADSL to NeoBroadband Fiber) disconnected like 3 times today that I know of.

One of the stranger problems that we are facing with some of our SSL connections are where the the handshake messages are exchanged, except for the very last (Finished) message, and hence very few SSL related services work on our Neotel Data Center servers. This issue occurs both on incoming and outgoing SSL connections.

Any information regarding this problem would be very helpful!

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Been having packet loss issues for about 2-3 weeks now. Logged multiple issues with ESD, but no resolution as yet. Currently most of Jhb is down due to a Cisco issue on a core router/switch.

Woohoo! Now I can't access google servers. Most other sites are fine. Google servers are fine from our ADSL account.

Yeah same issue this side. It appears even the Neotel DNS servers can't resolve Google domains. Looks like a peering issue perhaps with the local Google servers.

Well according to the last feedback I got from Neotel, this might not be the last we see if this issue:

Please be advised that Broadband broadcast intermittent issue is affecting our NSB & MWP customer services. Affected customers are from VLAN 3000 & VLAN 3001.This problem is already escalated to Cisco and we are working closely with Cisco to resolve this problem, since this problem is intermittent in nature hence the root cause of this problem is still not identified.

We are also working closely with planning team to put an interim solution so that customer services should not get affected due to the broadcast issue.

Just a follow up. Seems to have been stable for the last while (since my last post)?

Hi I am currently experiencing the exact problem you describe the last 2 days.
