Does anyone know if there is power failure in the area, does NeoConnect/Neotel base station get effected or is their back-up generators.

My main concern is this now thinking about all these load shedding outages we had beginning of the year.

All Neotel basestations are built to carrier standards and operate autonomously on batteries in the case of power failures.

Neotel uses its own optical fibre backhaul from the basestations to its main points-of-presence, which have several layers of power backup, including multiple mains feeds, batteries and generators.

This level of reliability is expected by Neotel's customers - both enterprises and consumers.

Note that the NeoConnect Lite and NeoConnect Prime devices also have batteries, and will operate for hours on these - so you can carry on surfing in the dark - if you have a laptop, or a UPS for your desktop PC. You can carry on talking on the phone or SMSing, of course, after your PC's battery runs down.
