Hey Everyone

Does anyone know where I can buy Cube shaped Neodymium Magnets in South Africa? Preferably in Durban since I don't really want to pay a handful for a courier service to transport it to Durban.

Thanks in advance

onedayonly have had them quite a few times in the past and I suspect will continue to have them in future.

I've seen them at Look and Listen. Dont know if all if all the stores have them though, but I've seen them up here in Johannesburg so maybe you are in luck :)

Thread resurrection.
Are there any other local suppliers? I normally buy from eBay but with the recent strength of the rand I'm thinking buying local may be more economical.....

Sportsmans Warehouse and Look and Listen both sell, but you may need to hunt around especially if you're looking for the original Buckyballs version as they've stopped production

You want the balls which form a cube, or actual tiny cubes?

That takealot is a decent price.

Sorry if it's directed at me then I just want Neodymium magnets...probably disc shaped (20mm diam x 3mm thickness). I see there are a few bidorbuy sellers but prices aren't all that great.

Nice. Did you just recess them in th back of the wood?

They need to be strong enough to hold a knife through a thin piece of wood:D
Those hdd magnets aren't exactly weak. Remember for hdds milliseconds count so they aren't going to save. They're normal neodymium magnet plates (2.5cm x 1.4cm x 2 mm estimated).

That said, hdd heads aren't heavy so you might need 2x for a heavy knife.

Yeah that's exactly what I did. It takes two 25mm X 3mm discs on top of each other to keep the knives firmly in place. There is one more slot for another knife on the plank:D
