Neoflex data released

What can possible have possesed some of you to go out and compare ADSL... to a crappy wireless product...and say it's cheaper...

That's just plain ignorance

Budget. It is cheaper.

I don't get to ask mommy and daddy for ADSL. I am mommy and daddy.

If you willing to part with your well earned money for a half arsed service that's your choice

What can possible have possesed some of you to go out and compare ADSL (Fixed line, low latency, almost 0% downtime, awesome consistant speeds etc.) to a crappy wireless product from neotel with 0 customer support, high latencies, inconsistant download speeds, high downtime... and say it's cheaper and imply that therefor it's a better buy.

That's just plain ignorance

They comparing price and affordability not which is better ADSL or wireless whats that about ignorance?

It's ignorant because price and affordability is not the only factor that should be a decision in buying a product. Ive read many reviews of the guys bitching and moaning about the level of service and yet more people blindly rush on to sign up.

Neotel's ability to conquer the consumer so far:

FAIL

At this rate maybe by 2025 Neotel will reach the 50,000 mark they were soooooooooooooooooooo hoping for.

But, wait a minute, isn't the end of the world just around the corner? Like 2012? If so, sorry Neotel, your dreams will never materialize. :D

Neotel would still be making as big a profit if they offered a package of possibly 4gig for R300 - R350 and they would appeal to a lot more customers. This would equate to a greater return on thei investment.

+1
Al ISP's provide a lot more variety in package sizes. I don't need 10 Gb.
5 Gb would have been perfect, as it's more than double my current 2 Gb package. Neotel would have immediately racked up a hell of a lot of customers if they've provided at least a 4 or 5 Gb alternative at +- R350 - R400. This would have smoked the prices of its wireless competitors, which in turn may result in a mass exodus of Vodacom/MTN subscribers to Neotel.

The prices are competitive, but i really think they dropped the ball in not having an "entry level" package.

I don't think it is a waste of time. You are going to pay R700 a month to get a ADSL line with a 5GB cap and 512K throughput (using figures from Axxess).

I can't see how 10GB and reasonable throughput is going to be bad. Yes this is not for everyone and it is R100 more than I was hoping for but it seems like a reasonable service to start with.

What is not reasonable is the call centre that won't let me order the service because it is being launched today.

"So when can I order it?"

"Can't tell you that sir, we are launching it today to educate out customers about the service."

I wanted to throttle her.
eish... not a good start at all.

Disaponting ...

I was expecting this service too...
Unfortunately it is over my budget...
I agree with the previous members - more packages flexibility and bellow R 350 options would definitely grab my attention and open my wallet .... ( as Mamas and Papas already mentioned....)
Contracts - suck !
Sell the modem for R1.2 - 1.3 K and give me prepaid @ 8-10 c
Then I'm in...
