Hey guys

This has probably been posted before but we're having some trouble with the Neoflex router at the MyBB offices.

One of our journos reset the device to set up a wireless network and as a result erased all of the DNS settings.

I've trawled the forums looking for an answer and I've found Neotel's standard DNS server settings but after putting these in the device still refuses to connect to the DNS server.

Any suggestions?

Hmmmmm. I've reset my device numerous times and Never had any issues. I've only ever had To put in my username and password and the device connects. I will check my modem settings when I get home and will let you know. I have heard that there are DNS issues on the flex devices and that there is supposed to be a new firmware coming out.

You can also use any of the Telkom DNS servers, they are accessible from the Neotel network. We use the following as backup:

- 196.43.45.190
- 196.25.255.3

Or find another closer to you:

http://www.saix.net/cgi-bin/saix_dns.pl

And if all else fails, the following two are Open DNS servers in the United States Of Obama:

- 4.2.2.1
- 4.2.2.2

Hmmm, also just thought that since the DNS server settings are automatically assigned to the Neotel device, log into the router & make sure you're being assigned all the default stuff i.e. WAN IP Address etc.

Also, make sure that your Username & Password hasn't being erased. If this isn't correct, the device will not be authenticated on the Neotel network and no Internet service will be available.

I would also recommend that once you have the device up & running, that you save the settings to a config file as a backup in case anything is ever changed or deleted again, resulting in your connectivity being lost.

I saw this post, have been using opendns.org for a while without too many problems, tried the telkom ones cause thought they would be alot better....and it would not work at all. maybe they have banned people coming from a Neotel IP or something. such a pity cause I reckon they would be alot more stable than Neotels ones :(

Not sure why you can't access the Telskum DNS servers, but I'm successfully using the following servers from my Neotel connection:

- 196.43.45.190
- 196.25.255.3

Can someone please tell me how to change the primary and secondary dns on neoflex?

Not sure if you can , prob need to force it on each machine
