What a frustrating day...Between Neotel & Hetzner, I'm going insane!?!

Does anyone else have a problem when doing a traceroute via NeoTel's network after the IP Adress, 41.160.2.65?!?

I phoned Neotel, they've told me that this IP Address belongs to them, that they are not experiencing any problems on their network, but have sent my request through to someone to have a look @, whatever that may mean.

It would appear that anything hosted in Cape Town, which doesn't go via Johannesburg e.g. http://www.news24.com, works as normal.

However, anything which goes via Johannesburg or is hosted there is inaccessible.

By the way, Hetzner, not cool doing maintenance on e-mail servers during working hours!?!

Had a problem with IMAP 3 weeks ago at a client which Hetzner is hosting..after many phonecalls and ping pong game.. they "restarted" the server and all of a sudden the IMAP starting working at the client...that after the tech on the phone confirmed there is nothing wrong on there side.

Strange indeed

Well, if you want a response from Neotel, the only option is to use http://www.hellopeter.co.za. They respond VERY quickly to complaints lodged on this website.

After requesting Hetzner move our domain to a Cape Town hosted server, e-mail is once again flowing yesterday & browsing appears normal today.

So, I assume whatever the two day 'unknown network problem' was has been resolved. Despite being promised that a technician would be assigned my complaint & that I would be phoned, it never happened. At this point I don't mind, as long as our Internet 'service' is working again.

Neotel has to do something about their technical department, fault logging, following-up & communication as a matter of urgency. It doesn't help implementing 'super fast' WiMax and other technologies if they are unable to talk to their customers.
