Does anybody knows is it possible to use Neotel instead of Telkom for ADSL connection? I had enough of Telkom good service and iBurst pricing is rather overenthusiastic.

Not yet.

It is imminent though...
NeeTel ADSL imminent? - news to me, but if it's the local telecoms definition of [searchforum]imminent[/searchforum], then ADSL from NeeTel must be about 5 years away from realisation...

NeeTel ADSL imminent? - news to me

Also news to me. NeoTel has, afaik, no plans to provide ADSL services to consumers in the near future. Neotel do have plans to deliver basic voice and Internet services using CDMA2000 - A point-to-multipoint wireless technology.

But ISP's should be, in the near future, free to buy bandwidth, that should (hopefully) be cheaper than Telkom, through NeoTel. Then sell this to the consumer.

Well, lets hope the come in with at least 8mbit or even 10mbit lines. Im sure they will be tho because Telkom is busy trialling 8mbit and 12mbit lines from what I heard from an employee about an hour ago.

Refuse to say anything about I-Wurst.

Telkom is busy trialling 8mbit

They are indeed doing that at the moment - an internal test for now. But we can forget about Neotel Lines for a few years. LLU needs to be completed first.

100 working days , or more precise 100 Telkom working days and we know that this means about 5 years !!!

neotel will be starting out with wireless broadband

nothing like the current adsl telkom offers

forget neotel they will not change a thing simple as that

Neowho:rolleyes:

you'll all be old and grey before they offer anything better than telkom, thats assuming telkom don't take them over.

Neotel is digging up the road in Parktown North near Rosebank..saw them yesterday for the first time
Out of curiosity, do Neotel people wear bright orange jailbait uniforms (a candid camera shot would be nice)?
