After waiting for months I was finally covered by Neotel and on Monday past i visited Autopage Cellular in Panorama to sign. My details were taken and 10 minutes later my ire was raised when they requested a deposit. However as Telkom was ****ing along with my Wimax application I agreed. I was told by the sales lady Bianca that I could pay on Wednesday when I collected. On Tuesday she calls me and advised that i need to pay the deposit into their bank account if I wanted the phone on Wednesday which I did and gave her the Deposit Slip. On Wednesday i get a call advising I can only get my phone on Friday as they were closing early and Thursday was Official Hangover Recovery Day.:( I collected my Phone yesterday and waited for it to be activated Until today at 9.30 when I went back to Autopage only to have her call Neotel who advise that as they Autopage had not paid the deposit over to them my account was not activated:mad:
She then called someone in charge who advised they could only pay the money over on Monday and then it would be activated.

This is absolute bull as Autopage is a Neotel partner and my account should have been activated on collection of the Phone.

Thru all this Bianca has been helpful but pretty impotent when dealing with people in charge.

I know Telkom service can be crap but at least they do not ask for money upfront.

Seems we need a Neotel SP, like MTN SP, Vodacom SP. If I get Neotel I will NOT go through Autopage!

Technical Difficulties

Was called about 20 minutes ago to confirm that it will be sorted out on Monday by 10am due to a "technical error" I figure that this error is that On Monday my 1st Debit order is supposed to run. This poor girl asked me if it was alright?????? WTF they already have my bloody deposit.

I suppose this is why whores take money up front, satisfaction not guaranteed!

Autopage must be one of the most incompetent companies on the face of this planet. I hear horror stories from friends and relatives about them on almost a daily basis. I even had some fun the other night listening to to them giving another of my clients the runaround, until he informed them he is a significant shareholder, (which he is), and all of a sudden his problem was sorted out.

I myself had to drive out once to their head office in Midrand all huffed and puffed, because their call center agents couldn't do a simple name change on a contract after several calls, faxes and e-mails were sent to them.

The supervisor I met up with there was clearly warned that I am coming with guns blazing, as she had my file with her. She insisted that they did not receive any of my e-mails or faxes, until I pointed out the fact that they were peeking out from the folder she was clutching in her one hand.

No apologies were made, and after I left thinking everything were sorted out, they handed the file over to a preschool data-capturing clerk, because everything I later saw on the online version of the file, was grossly misspelled.

If you are paying your bill with your credit card, you will also have the issue of a returned debit order every time your old card expires and you get issued a new one.

Although I realise that you should actually update this information yourself with Autopage's system beforehand, why can't they send you an automated SMS or e-mail a month or so beforehand reminding you to do this? They have the expiry date of your card on record, don't they? I am sure this will save them and their customers a lot of headaches.

I'm not keen on the whole contract thing that Neotel seem so adamant about. I have read a lot of things on this forum, which I'm not too happy about. Until they sort these teething issues with the billing and data monitoring or have a prepaid option, I will not move over to them!

Freudian slip here ... where they not screwing you over hard enough.

But I feel your pain: After 8 years of Autopage hell (Somerset Mall) I am now free of them within 12 days. They really suck that when I complained on Hellopeter about my account being wrong they threatened me with early termination of contract R5000 and R300 for 6 months (R50pm). This was about R100 that I still owed them because there invoicing incorrectly indicated a credit...
