Neotel and WoW

Hi there,

I'm thinking about moving from iBurst to Neotel and I'm curious about the latencies Neotel has in MMORPG's such as WoW. Currently I'm able to achieve between 300 and 500ms with my iBurst connection.

Anyone that has first-hand experience?
 
Yeah, Neotel's server has got some issues at the moment, so for now I would have to say no. From 8pm to 9:30pm I can't even open plain-text websites, never mind play WoW.

When their servers were running fine I would sit with sub-400ms latencies, and a very smooth gaming experience indeed. Until they get their service back up to those levels again, don't punish yourself by going Neotel.
 
I am using Neoflex in a "Fair" coverage area. Latencies can spike from sun 300ms up to 2000ms+.

This is, of course, immensly irritating but strangely if you leave it connected for a while you the latency comes down to a reasonable point.
 
Currently running WoW on Neotel, I am averaging 700 - 800ms. Running through Ogrimaar over a weekend is no problem whatsoever. Although about 2 weeks ago I was getting crazy pings and disconnects but that seems a whole lot better lately
 
Stay with iburst dont change over whatever you do you will be much happier for it.

I just wasn't able to do 25man raids on iBurst - it couldn't handle the sudden increase in bandwidth requirement once a boss fight starts. I would get disconnected and can only log back in once the fight is over.

Raiding is the entire point of WoW for me, so if I can't do 25mans on an iBurst then there's no point in getting it. Neoflex at least can handle the bandwidth part, even though the latency is a shocker during the raiding times (7pm to 11pm), ranging from 2000ms to 5000ms. If Neotel can sort out their current international latency issues (because local is always always fine), then it would indeed be a viable option. I did a tracert to www.google.com when I experienced latency issues a couple of times, and every time the problem was the last server in Johannesburg just before jumping to London. It gives you hope, but at the same time frustrates you because you have no idea if they're aware that the problem is on their side and whether they'll get their arses in gear and rectify it soon.

Sorry to hear that but i can honestly say neotel is not much beter currently iam just hanging in for cheaper adsl solutions. Wireless internet connections are not the way to go.
