this isn't so much a gripe as it is a "question" . I just called Neotel to enquire about NeoGo and was told 299 for 1.5gb or 239 P.A.Y.G. sort of plan. STILL need to buy USB card for 1500. What happened to 8c per mb?? Hidden costs?? Again???/still??? At 299 that's 20c a mb. I don't think we, in SA, will really be the beneficiary of a GREAT deal if we can't get a Telkom line to STAY PUT and not get stolen.

Will we ever have a situation where the consumer actually wins?

I knew that would come up. it's NOT the point - is it. Vodacom is 18.9c a meg and Neotel is 19.4c a meg. out of bundle is ONLY USEFUL OUT OF BUNDLE. Logical? Yes. it takes me 2 months to use 2Gb. So why the hype about 8c a meg when you have conditions.:) get it?

In the bandwidth range you're looking in there are several options. Basically you are in a position to send a message to Neotel by voting with your feet. If the uptake of NeoGo is slower than expected, I'm sure prices will start to fall.

Unfortunately those of us who use 10GB or more a month don't have the same options.

10GB a month on 3G:eek:

Even at 8c/meg that's crazy.

As you say, they are positioned just right to suck you in then tempt you to spend more because it's so cheap...

I agree - if I used 10Gb I would find it tempting. I use my work network or work 3G primarily. so when I am on my own pc at times I need to connect. it would be great if they said - cool here's 3Gb for 249 or even 299. I would go for that. does their package carry over?

perhaps I need to wait for prices to drop further.
