I joined Neotel 24 months ago.
I was originally sent an email when I was applying for the service to deposit R1000 which would then be refundable after 24 months.
Now that I request my deposit to be refunded they are now telling me that it will only be refunded after i terminate the service.
So R1000 of my money must sit in their account earning them interest until I cancel my subscription.

Anyone else had any joy with this?
ps: I've contacted Neotel Consumers and I'm waiting for an answer.

Hows this for a rubbish answer:
If they made a mistake then they should cough up.
The deposit and its refund terms are not stated anywhere in the contract.

Good day Peter,

I hope this email finds you well.

Regarding the refund of the deposit that was paid, Neotel only processed refunds for deposits on an in-active account.

What the consultant omitted to state was that it will be refunded to after 24 if you wish to terminate the service and not renew the contract or when you terminate prior to the expiry of the contract.

We can only refund on accounts which have been permanently de-activated.

I apologize for the miscommunication.

When I signed up with Neotel (early 2008), I never had to pay a deposit. What was the deposit for?
My association with them died when my contract ended earlier this year and I'm left with a useless Prime device...

I've been told that my account has been credited with the amount.
Will have to see on the next bill.
