Ok so my NeoBroadband Fibre 15mbps went down about 20 min ago. Can't get a response from their call centre and their website is also down. Anyone else notice this?

Just spoke to their call centre in India who confirmed that many circuts are down... :-(

See if you guys can ping 196.220.62.128. That is our mail server in cape town. i seem to be able to ping that - but nothing else.

Just spoke to their Enterprise Service desk after waiting for about 15 minutes in the queue. Apparently they have quite a few issues with connectivity.

S*** perfect timing, the boss stayed late and is doing work, well trying... I'm trying to fire up the old adsl

According to an internal contact in Neotel, there was a layer 2 break between Megawatt Park and somewhere else. Not sure why that would affect the whole country. Apparently the circuits are now converging.

Yeah I'm experiencing the same thing with international. Google local cache via CINX is up but I'm experiencing major packet loss in Cape Town.

Just got an email from Neotel:

Dear Customer,

Outage Description: Internet services are affected due to a major outage in NSB pop.

Current Status: Work in progress

This is with reference to the service impact on your circuit. Traffic on the circuit is affected due to a major outage in NSB POP at Johannesburg.

Our teams are working to resolve the issue.

It appears the international links are now almost all converged.

Wait, that was premature. Local working, international broken on Fibre and WiMAX again. :(

We have had our fibre link since October last year. From then till now, it is been down around 8 times. With about another 4 reports of hectic packet loss.

We got our dsl line in June last year. It has been down once.

all seems to be working again on this side, this is the only downtime we have had since ours was installed in November.
My only other problem is that I find youtube to be somewhat slower when compared to ADSL has anyone else noticed this?

Joburg, Microwave link, internet + SIP

Both down at the moment, no calls, no internet via that link.

We always have a lot of packet loss on our fibre link.

Their excuse is that our link is 1:4 contention ratio. And if we start using 80% of available bandwidth, we will get packet loss.

So 15mbit split between 4 gives around 3.75mbit dedicated bandwidth for ourselves and we were using 5mbit when the packet loss occured.

Anyone got a internal contact at Neotel that can help me with my WiMax circuit ID or WiMax Service ID. My Wi Max antenna is working and I can ping the Base Station and have good signal but I cant connect and I am trying to sort it out and it is down for 3 weeks now and I am using my Neotel Prime unlimited phone now
